MEGADYNE’s Electrosurgery Cart Awarded Top Design Honors
By The Society of the Plastics Industry 2007 New Product Design Competition

Draper, Utah – June 12, 2007 – MEGADYNE, the recognized authority on non-stick electrosurgical electrodes and cost-effective surgical devices, was honored with a New Product Design Award in the Medical and Scientific category for its innovative Electrosurgery Cart, used by surgical staffs to hold and transport electrosurgical equipment.

The award was presented to MEDGADYNE, its manufacturing partner FM Corporation, and its toolmaker partner MSI Mold Builders at the recent 10th Annual Alliance of Plastic Processors' (APP) 2007 Plastics Parts Innovation Conference in Memphis, Tenn.

The annual New Product Design Competition, sponsored by the Industrial Designers Society of America and The Alliance of Plastics Processors (APP), a business unit of the Society of the Plastics Industry (SPI), recognizes designs that contribute to the improvement of industry and the designers, toolmakers and manufacturers that work together to bring the designs to reality. The competition covers a wide range of plastic processing including covered injection molding, co-injection molding, thermoforming, rotational molding, blow molding and low-pressure structural foam.

Megadyne’s winning Electrosurgery Cart design employs polypropylene, a material that is easy to clean and offers the aesthetic and structural properties that appeal to surgical staffs.

"It is extremely rewarding to be recognized by these prestigious organizations for our efforts to provide the highest standards of product design and performance," said Michael Hintze, vice president of marketing at MEGADYNE. "We work everyday to employ the best of innovation, materials, research and design to help the medical and scientific community with access to the highest quality, most innovative, reliable and cost-effective products available."
