New Protective Nose Cone Designed to Minimize Thermal Injuries
Due to Stray Electrical Current During Electrosurgery

To further reduce the potential of thermal injuries caused by stray electrical current during surgery, E-Z Clean Modified Electrodes from MEGADYNE are now available with new protective nose cones designed to minimize electrical arcing in high moisture procedures.

Specifically designed for surgical procedures performed in confined spaces such as tonsillectomies or other procedures where moisture levels are high, new protective nose cones from MEGADYNE reduce the likelihood of stray electrical current leakage between the hand piece and electrode blade, thus minimizing potential electrical arcing to the patient and thermal burns to surrounding tissue.

Quick and easy to mount, the protective nose cone is constructed of pliable, non-conductive material and will be packaged with numerous MEGADYNE E-Z Clean disposable modified blades and needles that are PTFE coated.  Product codes are as follows:

• 2.5" E-Z Clean modified blade with nose cone (0012MD)
• 2.75" E-Z Clean modified blade with nose cone (0012AMD)
• 4" E-Z Clean modified blade with nose cone (0014AMD)
• 6.5" E-Z Clean modified blade with nose cone (0014MD)
• 2.75" E-Z Clean modified needle with nose cone (0013MD)

The E-Z Clean modified blade with protective nose cone is also compatible with all other vendors' electrosurgical pencils and handpieces.
